Castles made of sand

As of now, I intend to use this blog to share awesome music, videos, ideas, and other forms of art. Perhaps I'll write a few "journal entries". Let's see where this goes. I feel like I'm on LiveJournal again. Oooh, LiveJournal... And I mean that in a nostalgic, endearing way :-)

Here's a start...
I love using good quotes and anecdotes. Some people maintain that using other people's quotes and anecdotes is implicit of some lack of education or original thought on your part. I agree in some instances. But there are only so many great and often concise ways of depicting an idea. So I will go ahead and credit a lot of other people and use their words, because they are often beautiful and worthy of repeating. When asked to best describe my social perception, I refer to this; this is me:

"I do not care what car you drive. Where you live. If you know someone who knows someone who knows someone. If your clothes are this year's cutting edge. If your trust fund is unlimited. If you are A-list, B-list or never-heard-of-you list. I only care about the words that flutter from your mind. They are the only thing you truly own. The only thing I will remember you by. I will not fall in love with your bones and skin. I will not fall in love with the places you have been. I will not fall in love with anything but the words that flutter from your extraordinary mind." (-anonymous)

I do not care how much money you made, whether your outfit matches, how much power you feel you have or what kind of car you drive.
Mr. Hendrix said it best.
Those are all just castles made of sand.
